Mikalene Thomas Better Nights at the Bass Museum of Art

Mickalene Thomas’ Better Nights is an immersive art experience at the Bass Museum of Art. This was another exhibition I was lucky enough to visit on the day of the opening.

Inspired by a polaroid of her mother from the 1980s, this exhibition feels like time travel from the 1970s/80s through to modernity or the future.

This mirrored event space feels like the future

Each room with its artwork gives a specific feel: nostalgic, textured, and rich with meaning. The number of artists shown as part of this show, the diversity of the works and the various spaces and media make this a remarkable exhibition.
